Mentalfest

Incase you didn't notice already we're going to be running a festival early next summer focusing on mental health and young people... The site for the whole thing is up at www.pithrecords.com/mentalfest , and the forum is over here.

Things are progressing stellarly with this, we have our site sorted, and already have 40-50 bands from all over Australia wanting to play including some awesome local talent, and almost all of them are willing to play for free! We have a few mental health associations on board this to help run workshops and seminars on everything from substance use to the practicalities dealing with depression, and looks like we'll have a specialist look at body dysmorphia and body image. We also have local artists helping out with workshops including drumming, stenciling and t-shirt making - so kids will be able to make their own tees at the fest and take em home.

Triple J has tentatively said they are willing to get behind this as a 'Triple J presents' event, so all we gotta do now is find some way to fund this all and we'll be laughing! Smile

i don't know if early summer is a good idea. shitheaps of festivals happen in early summer. it'll be like, the fifteenth festival on people's lists if they can't get tickets to the other ones. november would be swish. the only prob is year 12 exam period.
