Sikth - Death Of A Dead Day
Wednesday, March 21st, 2007
Alright. First off… fellers, sorry, what the fuck:
Track 9: Part of the Friction, kinda cool intro bit, then the might lyrics bust out:
“Yes, no, yes, no, maybe, no”
Seriously. What the hell happened? This most recent album by these dudes grabbed me no where near as much as The Trees ARE Dead & Dried OUT Wait FOR Something Wild. There is more muthafucka guitarwork, aka songs such as Summer Rain which is kinda cool… but that general crazy awesome fun-time doesn’t seem to be there in this album.
It’s a bit ‘darker’ I suppose, with cover art that’s typical slightly-techy-organic-looking-metal-band stuff and … oh I don’t know.
I’m not hyped, but I want to be hyped. Where are the wonderful lyrics like ‘Bitchin erected muscle lickin’ of TtaD&DOWfSW (hahahah, wow, 11-letter acronym!) that I loved so? Okay. There are some lovely riffs here and there and the vocals are suitable Sikth-ish, they’ve definitely developed their sound, they pwn it more than before. They’ve definitely proved their musicianship in this one too.
5 undecided proggy modern metal fists out of 9.
Please note individual items are the those of the autor, not Pith Records. Don't blame us.
